Everyone always loves my lasagna, well except my kids. My grandfather loved it, my husband has taken pans to work before because they love it too. It’s nothing special, but I wanted to share the recipe with you.
13 x 9 casserole pan
2 lbs of hamburger meat
16 oz of Mozzarella shredded cheese
30 oz of Ricotta Cheese
1 cup or a little more of Parmesan Cheese
2 Jars of Classico Spaghetti Sauce ( I prefer tomato and basil or sometimes I mix it up with two flavors)
6 Lasagna Noodles
Brown and drain your hamburger meat, then cook your lasagna noodles and take your ricotta cheese and add one egg, mix well and then mix in the parmesan cheese. I honestly don’t measure the parmesan but you want to be able to spread the mixture so don’t get it too thick. Now it’s time to layer your lasagnaSpray some Pam in the bottom of your pan if you have some. Spread about 1/2 jar of the spaghetti sauce on the bottom of your pan, then put a layer of three noodles, spread 1/2 your ricotta cheese mixture on the next layer, then I go ahead and spread all of my hamburger meat in the next layer, then put a layer of your mozzarella cheese, then put some more spaghetti sauce typically the remaining of the jar and part of the next jar, then put your other three noodles down and then the remaining ricotta mixture. Pour on the remaining spaghetti sauce and then really pile on the mozzarella on that last layer. Cover with Alum foil and bake around an hour, then if the cheese is not completely melted cook without the Aluminum foil for around 10 more minutes. Fix up some garlic toast and you will have a great family meal.
This one is not a quick meal but it will pay off. If you are like me you may choose to mix it up and do 8 oz of Mozzarella cheese and 8 oz of Colby Jack cheese. I don’t always do that, most times I stick with Mozzarella but as you can see in the picture I did not strictly use Mozzarella.
One tip is sometimes your pan is REALLY full so somethings I put another pan under it to catch any that cooks over out of the pan.
